Fujian Port Technology Group Visits Guangzhou Port for Exchange and Learning

Release time:

2025-11-12

On November 11, Wei Qiuxin, General Manager of Fujian Port Technology Group, led his team to Guangzhou Port Group for a technical exchange. The two sides engaged in an in-depth discussion on topics including the digital and intelligent transformation of ports, the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies, and the construction of digital port platforms. They also visited the exhibition hall of Guangzhou Port Group.

At the symposium, Wei Qiuxin systematically introduced the development positioning and business layout of Fujian Port Technology Group. As the core platform for Fujian Port Group to promote digitalization, intelligentization, and green, low-carbon development, the Technology Group has integrated eight intelligent, information-based, and new-energy enterprises within the group, establishing a diversified business ecosystem covering intelligent port operations, port-of-entry informatization, digitalized management and control, and green, electric ports. Driven by digital and intelligent transformation and low-carbon transition, the group has achieved breakthroughs in multiple fields. He specifically pointed out that its subsidiary, “HIRI FUTURE,” as a comprehensive smart-port solution provider, has already successfully implemented its technologies at several key ports both domestically and internationally, propelling terminals from “single-machine automation” toward “system-level intelligentization” and earning wide industry recognition.

Dr. Liu Jiantao, Group Technical Director, further shared the group’s practical achievements in integrating artificial intelligence with ports. He introduced that “HIRI FUTURE” has built a full-stack technology system centered on “perception-decision-execution,” enabling nationwide localization of deployment—from algorithms to hardware—and breaking away from the traditional port renovation model’s reliance on foreign technologies. Among these innovations, the group’s independently developed “L4-level intelligent loading and unloading robot” adopts a design featuring a single brain and a unified sensing system. By leveraging high-precision, pure-vision recognition and deep-learning algorithms, this robot endows large-scale port equipment with the capabilities of “self-perception” and “autonomous decision-making.” Moreover, the group’s integrated intelligent solution for terminal operations, powered by a “group of expert intelligent agents,” provides full-process coverage—from operational execution to decision support, helping traditional port operations transition from “experience-driven” to “data-driven” management.

In terms of digital port platform development, Fujian Port Technology Group shared its practical experience in building a dual-operation model for the “Single Window” and in nationally promoting customs clearance service products, demonstrating its systematic capabilities in enhancing port collaboration efficiency and facilitating trade.

Guangzhou Port Group expressed strong recognition of Fujian Port Technology Group’s practices in the deep integration of AI with port operations. In recent years, Guangzhou Port has made remarkable progress in promoting intelligent development through systematic initiatives, achieving significant breakthroughs in areas such as terminal automation, data integration, and operational synergy, and is steadily driving a comprehensive transformation from traditional operational models to smart operations. Leaders attending the meeting pointed out that the evolution of ports from automation toward full-process intelligence still faces challenges. True end-to-end intelligent operation requires data as the key link to seamlessly integrate various aspects—including operational planning, equipment control, and logistics coordination—and to build an integrated smart closed-loop system encompassing “perception—analysis—decision-making—execution.” AI technology is precisely the critical cornerstone for overcoming these challenges and realizing safe, orderly, and environmentally friendly terminal operations.

In the future, terminals will no longer be mere collections of isolated mechanical equipment; instead, they should evolve into “a living, intelligent ecosystem” in which AI serves as the “system’s brain,” coordinating and scheduling various resources to achieve dynamically optimal performance in terms of overall efficiency, safety, and sustainability. Realizing this goal requires not only continuous technological breakthroughs but also the synergistic evolution of port operational philosophies and management mechanisms.

Both sides unanimously agreed that driving AI from “isolated applications” toward “system-wide empowerment” and building comprehensive intelligence that covers equipment, processes, and management is the core pathway to achieving a truly digital and intelligent transformation of ports.
