"HIRI FUTURE" Wins the 2025 China Intelligent Transportation Association Science and Technology Progress Award
Release time:
2025-11-05
Recently, the list of winners for the 2025 China Intelligent Transportation Association Science and Technology Awards was announced. The project “Research on Key Intelligent Technologies for Port Gantry Cranes Based on AI Vision,” submitted by Fujian Electronic Port Co., Ltd. (brand: HIRI FUTURE), won the Third Prize in the Science and Technology Progress Award thanks to its innovative achievements in the cutting-edge field of port intelligence. As one of the most authoritative science and technology awards in the intelligent transportation sector, this prize aims to recognize organizations and teams that have made breakthrough progress in technological innovation, achievement transformation, and industrial application. This award marks another industry-wide recognition of HIRI FUTURE’s accumulated technological expertise in the field of “Artificial Intelligence + Transportation.”

Project Introduction:
This project focuses on research into key intelligent technologies for port gantry cranes based on AI vision. It innovatively integrates large-scale AI models with multi-sensor data to build an autonomous driving system endowed with intelligent decision-making capabilities across all scenarios. The core technologies encompass five key modules: the large-crane visual collision avoidance system leverages dual redundancy—AI vision and LiDAR—to achieve an ultra-short detection cycle of 150 ms and classify more than 10 types of obstacles; the Load Collision Prevention System attains a comprehensive recognition accuracy at the 3-cm level; the visual anti-lift system enables detection at an ultra-low height of just 20 cm above the ground; the visual correction system integrates GNSS with multi-feature detection, reducing the processing time per image to as little as 30 ms+; and the container-number recognition system achieves seamless identification and real-time verification in yard environments, with an accuracy rate exceeding 99%.
In terms of technical approach, the project replaces traditional laser solutions with visible-light AI vision, effectively addressing complex operating conditions such as rain, fog, nighttime, and strong sunlight, thereby significantly enhancing system robustness. At the algorithm level, by customizing neural networks and machine vision algorithms specifically designed for autonomous operation of gantry cranes, and integrating technologies like data augmentation and multi-scale detection, the system achieves high-precision perception over long distances and with wide fields of view, while also delivering real-time outputs. Meanwhile, the project adheres to a low-cost, fully domestically-produced stack approach, promoting autonomy and controllability throughout the industrial chain.
Currently, this technology has been deployed in over 80 large-scale ports both domestically and internationally, with more than 3,000 sets of equipment installed. The technology covers key domestic ports such as Tianjin Port, Shanghai Port, Ningbo Port, and Xiamen Port, as well as regions along the Belt and Road—including Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Brazil—and BRICS countries. Its applications span various scenarios, including container terminals and bulk cargo yards. This technology has enabled a leap from single-machine automation to fully unmanned operations across the entire yard workflow, offering a mature “Chinese solution” for the global port’s intelligent transformation.
In terms of outcomes and benefits, this project has not only achieved cumulative cost savings exceeding 3 million yuan over the entire lifecycle of a single piece of equipment, but has also driven the overall market for smart port upgrades to surpass 1 billion yuan. Moreover, it has yielded remarkable results in safety and environmental protection: the incidence of operational anomalies has dropped by 95%, effectively mitigating the risks of personnel injuries and equipment damage. At the same time, through optimized energy consumption, the project is contributing positively to the development of green ports and making a significant contribution to carbon reduction in the industry.
In the future, HIRI FUTURE will continue to deepen technological innovation in the fields of artificial intelligence and port automation, expanding the application of cutting-edge technologies such as large AI models and multimodal perception in smart ports, and driving the evolution of port operations from single-machine intelligence toward comprehensive, all-domain intelligence. At the same time, the company will collaborate with port operators and industry chain partners both domestically and internationally to jointly explore pathways for port data integration and business empowerment, promote the large-scale implementation of key port scenarios, and continue to contribute to the development of a new global ecosystem of smart ports that are efficient, safe, and green.
