Vehicle positioning, navigation, and correction

It's a technology we're all familiar with.

Widely used in passenger vehicles.

When these technologies come to the large trucks at the port terminals,

What kind of sparks will fly this time?

Under the guidance of Fujian Port Group and Xiamen Port Holdings Group, HIRI FUTURE has fully implemented the requirements of the three-year special action document on "Promoting Safety through Science and Technology." By fully leveraging AI visual recognition technology in conjunction with the Beidou satellite positioning and navigation system, we have equipped the large vehicles at port terminals with Autonomous driving capabilities—including positioning and navigation, path correction, and cross-aisle transfers—thereby comprehensively enhancing the level of port automation and helping to achieve a new leap in safe and efficient port operations.

Large Vehicle Positioning and Correction System

HIRI FUTURE has independently developed a large-vehicle positioning and correction system. The system uses high-definition cameras to capture footage of the large vehicle in motion, and leverages a high-performance AI recognizer and the BDS Beidou satellite navigation and positioning system* to detect in real time the vehicle’s traveling posture, determine its current location, the extent and direction of any deviation, and then control the vehicle by slowing it down, stopping it, and correcting its steering. This enables precise positioning and navigation for large vehicles, as well as straight and stable driving routes.

The system also supports features such as automatic docking for large vehicles (automatic battery swapping when entering or exiting the yard), automatic street crossing, and automatic yard transfer (autonomous driving from the current yard to the opposite or adjacent yard), thereby enabling a transition from manned equipment to fully automated, “driverless” robots.

*Note: In addition to the BDS BeiDou Satellite Navigation System, it also supports GNSS “Five Satellites and Sixteen Frequencies”—that is, a total of five satellite navigation systems: China’s BDS, the U.S. GPS, Europe’s GALILEO, Russia’s GLONASS, and Japan’s QZSS. The receiver can process signals from sixteen frequency channels.

Core System Advantages

01 Lower costs

Traditional solutions require positioning aids such as sliding contact lines, ground magnetic nails, and signal amplification antennas, which are difficult to install, slow to implement, and suffer from declining reliability over time. HIRI FUTURE, on the other hand, only needs to leverage algorithms to empower the device’s native camera, enabling stable and reliable correction at a low cost.

02 Better standard

The standard for large vehicle correction required by mainstream industries is within 5 centimeters. However, HIRI FUTURE’s vision solution can keep the correction within 3 centimeters, whether at high or low speeds, and its correction protection standard is even higher.

03 More reliable

Based on extensive dock data for modeling and debugging, and integrating machine’s autonomous learning capabilities, we have achieved highly reliable correction and protection. Even in conditions such as damaged ground markings or overgrown grass, the system can still perform stable and reliable correction.

04 Dual Redundancy

Dual-redundancy of AI vision solutions and traditional solutions: When satellite signals are blocked or fail, the AI vision solution can still independently perform positioning, navigation, and correction protection. And when ground markings are missing or damaged, making visual recognition impossible, the traditional solution can also independently carry out positioning, navigation, and correction protection.

05 Lightweight Installation

The control algorithm is integrated into the host computer, minimizing the need to modify the local controller and the PLC, thereby reducing the impact of automation upgrades on existing facilities and systems.
