On October 14, the 2026 Smart Port Technology Exchange Conference, themed “Intelligent Integration for All‑Domain Collaboration, Building a World‑Class Strong Port,” was successfully held in Tianjin. Grounded in technological practice and focused on tangible results, the conference highlighted key strengths such as scenario‑based applications, all‑domain collaboration, and open sharing. It centered on the deep integration of cutting‑edge technologies—including artificial intelligence, big data, the Internet of Things, intelligent agent coordination, and autonomous driving—with port operations, thereby establishing a high‑level industry platform for port operators, research institutes, and technology‑driven equipment companies to exchange ideas, share achievements, and collaboratively address challenges.
Focusing on Port Safety and Efficiency Enhancement: DP World Visits HIRI FUTURE
Recently, Kamran Ali, Global Director of Automation at DP World, along with a delegation of key personnel, paid a visit to “HIRI FUTURE,” a subsidiary of Fujian Port Technology Group, to conduct an on-site inspection. They observed firsthand the company’s series of independently developed innovations and practical applications in areas such as intelligent equipment control, machine vision perception, and Intelligent algorithm simulation.
On the afternoon of September 9, Special Forum Four of the 8th “Silk Road Maritime” International Cooperation Forum—the “Silk Road Maritime” Technology Forum—was held in Xiamen. With the theme “AI-Native Intelligent Port—Large Models and Multi-Agent Collaboration to Build a New Paradigm for Fully Autonomous Ports,” the forum brought together industry leaders from port operators, equipment manufacturers, and research institutions at home and abroad, aiming to establish a global platform for exchange on port and shipping technologies and jointly explore new pathways for the digital and Intelligent transformation of ports.
During operations, if a Spreader or the container it is lifting accidentally collides with containers already stacked in the Stack yard, it can trigger an incident commonly referred to as “bowling,” which, through a chain reaction, may result in damage to multiple containers and cargo, and even lead to casualties and operational disruptions—posing serious safety hazards.
Recently, Chen Zhiping, Party Secretary and Chairman of Fujian Port Group, granted an exclusive interview to the renowned host Wu Xiaoli, engaging in a thorough and candid discussion on topics including the smart‑technology development of Fujian ports, their green transformation, the ecosystem‑building efforts of the “Silk Road Maritime” Alliance, and the future direction of first‑class port development.
At the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference, the trend in the embodied robotics sector has become very clear: showcase‑type products that rely on performance‑oriented features such as fighting and dancing have lost their appeal, while more manufacturers are shifting toward well‑defined real‑world scenarios like industrial assembly lines and standardized workstations. The industry’s focus has now moved to verifying operational Stability and demonstrating practical value. This shift precisely highlights the core logic behind the deployment of smart ports: rather than striving for universal Intelligent capabilities across all scenarios, selecting highly suitable niche applications is the key to moving from demonstrations to mass production.
Ensure that every crane is “fully under control.”
Port and industrial lifting equipment (such as gantry cranes, portal cranes, and Quay Cranes) are numerous, highly robust, and operate under complex conditions, yet they have long been plagued by four persistent challenges: difficult condition monitoring, low operational efficiency, slow fault resolution, and fragmented data management. The traditional model of manual inspections, paper-based records, and reactive repairs suffers from limited coverage, inconsistent standards, and reliance on the experience of senior technicians for fault diagnosis. Moreover, operational, energy consumption, and alarm data remain siloed, failing to support informed decision-making and easily leading to unplanned downtime, soaring maintenance costs, and shortened equipment lifespans.
Recently, the Fujian Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology officially released the “2026 List of Provincial Artificial Intelligence Projects.” Fujian Electronic Port Co., Ltd.—with its self-developed large-scale vertical model for port equipment automation under the brand “HIRI FUTURE”—was successfully included in the list of high-quality industry-specific AI models in Fujian Province, with only 10 companies from Xiamen making the cut. This selection signifies that the company’s years of dedicated R&D in port equipment automation AI technology, along with its practical industrial value, has received official provincial-level recognition, establishing it as a benchmark achievement in Fujian’s port AI sector.
