On May 28, Fujian Port Group held the twelfth session of the “Fujian Port Lecture Series.” This session was themed “From Automation to Autonomy: Industrial Transformation, Application Innovation, and Security Governance in the Age of Intelligent Agents,” and featured a special lecture by Liu Jiantao, Chief Scientist of Fujian Port Technology Group. The event was chaired by Chen Zhiping, Secretary of the Group’s Party Committee and Chairman. Leaders of the Group, all employees at headquarters, members of the leadership teams of directly managed enterprises, department heads, representatives of model individuals, young employees, and frontline staff attended the session to jointly map out a new blueprint for the high-quality development of the port.
On May 21, the seventh joint meeting of the China–Malaysia Port Alliance was held in Nanning, Guangxi. With the core theme of “Empowering through Artificial Intelligence and Digitalization, Deepening Port–Shipping Connectivity, and Building a New Channel for China–Malaysia Cooperation,” the conference brought together 26 member units and 21 observer units from both China and Malaysia, totaling 145 government and business guests as well as industry leaders, to discuss new pathways for port–shipping cooperation and map out a fresh blueprint for regional development.
Fujian Port Technology Group’s HIRI FUTURE showcased its self-developed port automation drive products and full-stack AI solutions. With deep technical expertise and a wealth of real-world implementation cases, it drew port operators, terminal companies, international OEMs, and industry experts from Europe, Africa, Asia, and other regions to stop by for discussions, jointly exploring cutting-edge technologies and future trends in the intelligent transformation of the shipping supply chain.
HIRI ICPS: Enabling Quay container trucks to park more accurately than seasoned drivers.
As the core carrier for container loading, unloading, and transshipment, the Quay’s docking positioning accuracy and efficiency directly affect the port’s overall operational rhythm, handling safety, and throughput capacity. Traditional guidance schemes primarily rely on manual command and ground/airborne markings, requiring no complex sensing equipment; however, they suffer from low precision and heavy reliance on operator experience. Drivers must repeatedly adjust their alignment, and the entire process requires dedicated supervisors, resulting in high labor costs and significant efficiency losses due to fatigue and varying levels of expertise, which in turn leads to excessively long single-container turnaround times. Subsequently emerging sensor‑assisted solutions—such as laser scanners—have improved alignment accuracy; yet, in the port’s complex outdoor environment, they are easily affected by fog, rain, and dust. When the laser lens becomes contaminated, detection accuracy drops markedly. Moreover, these devices are expensive, have limited lifespans, and incur high maintenance costs, making large‑scale deployment impractical.
China’s port “brain” goes global—when African Quays are equipped with the “Chinese brain”
In recent years, China has steadily accelerated its port‑building efforts in Africa. According to official statistics, China has participated in the investment, construction, or operation of approximately 78 ports across 32 African countries, spanning a vast region from West Africa to East Africa and from North Africa to Southern Africa. These ports have provided crucial leverage for Chinese enterprises seeking to expand into the African market, jointly writing a new chapter in China–Africa cooperation.
Recently, a delegation of senior leaders—including Huang Jiansheng, Director of Information and Data at PSA Group and President of Jinsheng Logic, and Chen Lianghui, Vice President of Development and Strategic Technology at PSA Group’s Tuas Port—along with Zhao Lei, General Manager of Fujian Yisilu Internet Information Service Co., Ltd., a joint venture between PSA and Fujian Port Science and Technology Group, paid a visit to “HIRI FUTURE,” a subsidiary of Fujian Port Science and Technology Group. During the visit, both sides held an exchange meeting focusing on the research and development and practical application of Intelligent port technologies, as well as the expansion of scenarios for Intelligent port systems, jointly exploring new opportunities for cooperation in port and shipping-related intelligent technologies.
On May 9, Wei Qiuxin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of Fujian Port Science and Technology Group, led a delegation to Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Zhenhua Technology) for a technical exchange symposium. Li Wei, Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of Zhenhua Technology, attended the meeting and participated in the discussions. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on key issues such as smart port automation upgrades, renovation of existing Quays, and the integrated application of AI technologies, forging consensus on cooperation and jointly exploring new pathways for industrial upgrading, thereby laying a solid foundation for further deepening business collaboration and jointly expanding domestic and international markets.
TOC Europe 2026 | HIRI FUTURE invites you to visit Booth D114
From May 19 to 21, 2026, TOC Europe, the annual global event for the port and container supply chain industry, will be held in Hamburg, Germany. As a professional provider of AI products and solutions for the port sector, HIRI FUTURE will attend the exhibition with its team of AI experts, engineers, and sales representatives. We look forward to engaging in in-depth, face-to-face discussions with port operators, port users (companies), partners, and both new and longstanding industry friends from around the world.
“HIRI FUTURE,” as the provider of the project’s core Intelligent technology solution, has built an advanced Intelligent remote control system to support two brand-new RTGs. The project broke ground in mid-April last year and completed the initial equipment commissioning in less than three months.
