Lianyungang New Orient Container Quay

Lianyungang New Oriental Container Terminal is located in the Miaoling Operation Area of Lianyungang Port, the eastern terminus of the New Eurasian Land Bridge. Established in 2013 as a joint venture between Lianyungang Port Group and PSA International, it serves as a core container transportation platform. The terminal boasts five 100,000-ton-class Berths with a total shoreline length of 1,700 meters and a water depth of -16.5 meters. It is equipped with 10 Quay Cranes, 16 RMGs, and other specialized equipment, covering a Stack yard area of over 400,000 square meters with a capacity of 2.8 million TEUs. Its annual designed throughput is 2 million TEUs, and the average vessel handling efficiency reaches 68.5 natural containers per hour. Leveraging its advantages in land-sea multimodal shipping, the terminal serves the hinterland along the Longhai–Lanzhou–Xinjiang Railway corridor as well as Eastern European countries, forming a shipping network that integrates both short- and long-haul services. It has become an important hub port in northern Jiangsu Province. In recent years, the terminal has focused on smart and green transformation by implementing the TOS terminal operating system, deploying automated Rail-Mounted Gantry Cranes and driverless straddle carriers, and building a near “zero-carbon” port microgrid. Having passed the “Four-Star Green Port” review, it has emerged as a modern, intelligent port that empowers the logistics corridor of the New Eurasian Land Bridge.

The Lianyungang RTG Intelligent Remote Control Project is located at the New Orient Container Terminal in Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province. “HIRI FUTURE,” as the provider of the project’s core Intelligent technology solution, has supplied two brand-new RTGs ( CQ08 and CQ10 yard cranes An advanced Intelligent Remote Control System has also been built to support the operation. The project broke ground in mid-April 2025 and completed the preliminary commissioning of equipment in less than three months. Currently, the project has been officially put into operation within the production system, realizing intelligent operational procedures such as issuing instructions from the production management system, automatic equipment positioning, and guided alignment of container trucks. This achievement marks the successful launch of a new pattern of automated operations at the New Oriental Container Terminal, characterized by the deep integration of “intelligent equipment + collaborative systems,” which has significantly enhanced the terminal’s overall level of refined operations and safety.

Due to the uneven terrain in the Stack yard of this Quay, there are stepped height differences as well as transverse and longitudinal settlements, resulting in rail irregularities. This poses certain control difficulties and challenges for first-tier container stacking and trolley deviation correction. HIRI FUTURE addresses this issue by implementing an AI vision protection system that establishes a closed-loop process of “perception → judgment → protection” for RTGs.
